1/2 of sugar n' spice hamming it up in front of the lens before they made it big in the NZ comedy scene - shows you what a breeding ground music videos are. Bressa were too short lived...
BCC...where are they? A Londonicious fan craves to know where the songwriter of The Chip that Sells Millions is.
Now....new bit. I decided to 'edit my thought' (if only you could do that in real life). Difficult to add to the below comment, other than "YES" and "Well, you are a NZer and are there, you lucky fknbzdchtchchcshhh".
It might seem strange, but there's a guy right now in South Pissing London who would love to be there, and who would look past the scenery, past the skiing, the nature, the flightless birds, past the the general grooviness, grass and coffee...to the music of Bressa and Creeting and Cake. God Bless this site for having the Palm Singing vid, which I have never seen.
BCC are no more, Mr Cake has been involved in music score for NZ film "Rain", Mr Creeting and Mr Bressa are members of band Golden Horse.....rumoured to be putting an album out soon!! Check them out.
Really nice to hear Mr Cake on the Rain soundtrack. Really hits home how talented these guys were. Also kinda funny that he collaborated with Neil Finn on the Rain soundtrack (given the many comparisons of BCC with early Split Enz).
Can anybody tell me whether Ed Cake (Edmund McWilliam) is still making music in any serious (gigs or recording) kind of way? I'd love to hear a full album by him.
Hello
Could anybody who listened to Ed Cake on Musical Chairs (Nat Rad) today tell me what the guy is up to. Im just a little bit out of the National Radio listening zone and seeing as RadioNZ signed up to sucky XtraMSN, killing its live Webfeed - we cant get it over here.
It just occured to me, after seeing the "Palm Singing" video for approximately the trillionth time, that it really sucks that Bressa Creeting cake never made any other videos.
Their album had so many good songs on it. I'd makes me sad that most people will probably only know BCC as the wacky, zany "Palm Singing" dudes, when they had such better songs on their album, but those songs never had videos made.
You are totally right! Although they did have the video for Papa People (the one with the giant Weta) you're right though there were so many other fantastic songs on that album, so many oppurtunities for videos. How about one for Egyptian Tanker or Chip that sells millions!!?!?! One can only imagine now :(
I love this album so much it makes me want to die. Or puke.
They Write Words to People Who Are Dead is so incredibly moving, and such amazing guitar. And Anatomy of an Early Microscope.

This Sunday 9-11pm on 95bFM's "Sunday Surprise" I'll be interviewing Scott Mannion, one of the co bosses of Lil Chief Records, Ed Cake's (Ex Bressa Creting Cake) label. He'll be also playing favourites and talking about the labels releases and upcoming projects.
This Saturday shall I see you at..
"Outlaws at the Odeon"
The Rainy Days, Mountain Lion, The Boxcar Guitars
9pm door ..at The Odeon Lounge MT Eden Rd... Serving food and coffee aswell as beer and wine...
Saw their video palm singing & on the strength of that alone I am a life-long fan. Bressa Creeting Cake have reached the heights of genius, and then pushed past it.

Would you guys be interested in coming to Wellington. Check out our website and let me know if you think we could play together. Do you guys have a website somewhere?

Thanks for that. There are so many band contacts etc that it is hard to know what people are up to sometimes and it doesn't always mean that they are defunct just becuase there are no recent posts!
Does anyone here have a recording of "All The Cars" by Breast Secreting Cake? It was on some Flying Nun sampler CD I think, which I used to have but lost my copy of.
I'd dearly love an mp3 of that song if anyone can help me out. Email me at peter-at-warpart-co-nz.
I just fell in love with this band all over again, I had a great time at the supermarket last night walking around singing "you sound like gentle waters running over drowning children, la-la la la" under my breath.
