In many ways my favourite Bailterspace track, makes me feel very cool.

would BS be touring anytime soon?

that's right ... thought my circadian rhythm was telling me something ... a while ago, they used to tour every second orientation! it's nearly that time again ... i remember seeing them play in the grubby old Union Hall at Otago ... the sound bouncing off the back of the wall ... good lord it was heaven ....

sorry i couldn't answer yr question though ... i just had to reminsce ...

yes do come home an play BS...

dear god that would be fantastic

where is the space?hope they're not shellshocked from tt colapse,
please play these shores again soon,we miss you,

Bailter Space are listed on Flying Nun's website as playing on June 2nd in Auckland as part of the 'True Colours'.
Any news about Bailter Space's plans?
I've been living close to NYC for a year now and I have not heard the slightest peep from them.

... that means they might tour round the rest of the country, having come all this way! good lordy i can't wait. hopefully they'll have a new release?

OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!
i will fucking be there.

Hey where is this on the flying nun site?

in the "tours" section
under PanAM

Cheers Blink,
fucking eh that is going to be great!

yeah, i wasn't going to go up, but since bailterspace have been announced, well i have started packing my bags

So what they hell is happening with this band in terms of new releases etc.
Man it's been ages since their last album. Does anyone know? I thought there were no longer with Flying Nun (figures..),
hope they havn't gone on 'standby' there still plenty of room for them in the NZ music fan psche.

help where do out of town hdu bailter space devotees book for the "under the influence" at st james sunday-tried bloody unhelpful st james answerphone, ticketek, auckland vic and flying nun website much thanks and respect to the queen for the holiday monday!

I don't quite know why the Bailter Space gig is listed in the gig guide - it was post-poned quite some time ago, because I don't think Bailter Space are even in NZ at the moment. The Sunday night booking has been taken over by a second Finn Brothers night, since the Friday night one was sold out quickly. If you were to find the Uncharted news on this site for this week, they'd confirm this for you. From memory, its the last weekend in June now, but I may not be 100% right on that.

okay, just starting to panic a little. i heard vaguish rumours they were recording... but... www.bailterspace.com is no more, gone, lapsed, fuck you could buy the domain if you wanted.
... and turnbuckle.com, their last label far as i know... no response from server...
i don't even need to ask my question, but does anyone have any news of the 'space? anyone? anything?

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need some news too.............mildly giving up hope i willl ever see the greatest band this country has ever had.

I'm going to a D4/Datsuns gig just outta NYC next weekend. I'll be keeping a keen eye out for members of Bailter Space. If I see them I will ask them if and when we will ever see the 'space again. I will let you know if this happens.

weird - audio on the vid track sounds a lot lot slower than the speed it plays on my CD of Capsul ... nice vid however, same cool retro (ha!) space aesthetics of the now/currently defunct bailterspace website. that website made no sense, and i loved it.

Heard today on BFM that Alister Parker will be doing a show at the Kings Arms on Monday, March 31 with Gary Sullivan and Meterman.

wooohooo!!! you lucky Auckland bastardos!!!!!! great news!

I'll be there with bells on. Good on the Meterman boys for getting the support slot!

I met Alistair before a gig once (watching The Melvins) and said i love Begin off Robot World, do you ever play it live anymore, he said i really like Begin as well, i'd like to play that. They came on to stage and the first song the played was....
tears welled in my eyes.

Anyone out there have contact info for any of the bailter boys?
I have no idea what they are up to these days, and it would be kinda nice to find out what the band is up to (if anything at all).
I have a bailterspace/skeptics website that I haven't updated for ... well, a bloody long time. I think there is a link to click somewhere on this post if you want to have a gander.

WHY, oh, WHY is there no comments here about the new 'best of' compilation?

It bloody well is brillinat!!!

Oh.. and you can enter to win a copy of it at ..... (yeah, you guessed it!)

People lacking good taste I guess. I haven't got the comp myself yet, but that's mainly because I have most of the tracks already on their various albums (that and a serious lack of funds!). I guess their profile really isn't that high and there hasn't been much promotion for the release. I do hope they sell a few, I'd like to see the guys earn a bit of cash from it. They are such a fantastic band and more people need to know about them.

yeah man it is good! even tho' i have most of the songs already i got a copy - it's a great selection to put on in the car.
i'm sure that version of '5' is on my splat CD single...

what record did they release on amphetimine re....?

i think shadow is my new favourite... how the f**k do you get that dense but still shimmering guitar sound god dam

i havn't sat down and a / b compared with the old copy's so i'm not sure what the new mastering has added but i've been meaning too

yeah, Shadow is masterful.
and l;ately I've been listening to old Robot World tape in the car, it's so good too, what a great fucken album.

everyone i know who likes Bailterspace is absolutely fanatical about them and already owns everything ... though i'm so close to actually buying it for the extra track and couple of remixes. dammit, they own my soul! not that i'm complaining, mind ...

//everyone i know who likes Bailterspace is absolutely fanatical about them

yep, they're like an opiate

Bailter Space collectables can be found on http://www.rhythmonline.co.uk, the online music store that specialises in 'alternative' music, with a massive listing of rare and collectable stuff. One of the largest lists on the web? Definitely worth a look!

Does anybody know where I can get some Bailter Space guitar tab and/or just tell me what tunings Alister uses? This band is my freakin' inspiration for even attempting to learn to make music .... blabuwe@yahoo.com

Hello to everybody,

i'm an old friend of the bailter space guys from the days they stayed in Cologne /Germany for a while.
I want to make contact to John, Brent or Allister. Maybe anybody in this forum knows an E-Mail Adress or phone number. It would be very nice, if anybody could help me.
So, if anybody can help, please send me an e-mail to: jo@so-healthy-music.com
