I love them muchly. What's th Ju is an anthem and you must have it. Let it Go is my rinky dink favourite live video on the site.

Yeah, but what's the ju?

i had always wondered what the hell it was....and now i know...

These guys rock!!!
If thier EP is anything to go by then their upcoming album will be fickin awsome!!!

weta are "dragon" for the new century,
big dumb metal.....i loathe them.

well GARBO.... your name sums up the quality of your comment.
Maybe you just don't get it, but there is hope for you yet.

wheres the mp3's for the playlist thingy!!??

yeah weta may well be the Dragon of 2000 ... i think i love them cos of that.

There's no much better than Weta live... did I mention their official site was under construction (www.wetarock.com)?

Hey, I'm a real big Weta fan who just signed up today :) I have a fan site on them (www.silence.co.nz/weta) and am really looking forward to 'Geographica'. Anyways, check out my site for stuff... and make sure you have a copy of the 'Calling On' single coz it rocks!

Weta are playing three gigs in NZ this month. I think they're like, private kinda things or something... but I'm not entirely sure. 17th: The Classic in Auck, 18th: The Valve in Welly, and 27th: Dux de Lux in ChCh. I know Channel Z are giving tickets away during their breakfast and drive shows so listen out then to win. Also, only about 50 people at each gig or something...

one more sleep, one more sleep...i can hardly wait!

Go Boys Go!!!!!!!!!

Weta definitely had the Ju last night at their packed out gig in Valve. They tore through their new album throwing in a couple of funky jams for good measure. They finished the set with a gutsmacking Got the Ju but the crowd simply couldn't get enough. Gabba satisfied with the finest rendition of Rock n Roll Damnation I've heard outside of Upper Hutt.
After, Aaron and Gabba went on to hijack the Matterhorn's sound system. Gabba was booted off after his Maddonna remix and Aaron took over belting out Queen songs from atop the bar. I don't know what was scarier - the kareoke we were subjected to or the fact that Madonna and Queen's Greatest Hits were found in Leon's collection??

missed it {:-(

Geographica rocks..... its a breath of fresh air from all the suffocating blandness of music that seems to be around at the moment.
Its heavy, its light, its happy, its sad, its uplifting, its introspective.
Could be a classic for this summer.

The album is absolutely fantastic, as was their gig at the Dux on Wednesday night. Well done to the band for entering the NZ album charts at no.9! Fingers crossed for a November tour of NZ with Shihad and Fur Patrol...

The album kicks ass ...impressed !!! Calling on is one of the best rock songs...i have heard for a long time .....yeah it rocks...cool video too

After a long night at the New Jazz Transplant on Friday listening to crap music in a promising temporary venue (should have had a live gig for the opening night!!... bring on the Dub Connection and Trinity Rooooooots!!). There was no option but to play this huge track from Weta as loud as the stereo could go at 4 am on a clam moon filled night.... ahhhhh all the hours of lame techno funk hash just slipped away with the opening riff and then the rest of the track just carried me away... I was still bouncing along and whistling the chorus by the time i got home... thanks boys!!!

weta rock...first saw them at the filter gig in sydney ( yes i am an aussie, but who cares? i love me NZ music!!!) and they blew me away...as did shihad, but that is another story for another day.

anyway, the wetarock.com addy isnt active yet, so to access the wetarock.com site you actually have to go to www.shihad.com/weta and then you will be able to get into the site and see that clips and pics and all that sort of stuff. and by the way the link to my website is also on the links page of wetarock.com (me sites called get weta), so you can visit it if you want to!!!

that is all...

If you lerve these fullas, than keep posted for Mary Staple's new single Labourer. We'll have it up on the site shortly. Weta named these guys the next band to watch out for and after listening to this single I can see why.

wow...i have now been enlightened, thanks guys, you ROCK!

wow what a FANTASTIC album. not at all what i expected, but my god it is good.

Rad vid. Snapshot rocks the party.
Is that the album track???

Yeah... half of Snapshot off the CD and a stunning live version of Got the Ju!!

hmph

I'm sticking my neck out here, but I reckon this was the best music video from a NZ band in 2000. Yeah I know it was made by Australians but that's not my point ok!

Great video, great song, great band, great album. WETA KICK BUTT!!!!

Well what can I say about these guys from Wellington? They kick some serious arse and they play an amazing live set. Was absolutely gutted when I heard they split and cried (sort of) for a week. I have heard rumours of a post split weta re emerging from the ashes, but without Bolli to thump away at the drums, or Gabe to just be there, I'm not sure what to think. Their dynamic as a group is breathtaking, and to them I remove my hat. Weta will be sorely missed. Geographica is a bloody awesome album, and Calling on rocks..... you do your thing Tookie!!!!! And Aaron looks really nice too......

cool vid... nearly kinda dodgy

yes well it's been a year since they've released their album, it's been a year since i met them in flesh @ sounds queen st, it's been a year since they rocked my bones out of my skin @ their tour with shihad and fur patrol and it's been months since they have officially told the public of their unfortunate break-up.
but oh frickin' well, they ARE still the best band to have ever come out of new zealand soil (and shihad too). and their cd is still in its permanent position in my stereo spinning away, blasting its rockin' goodness. WETA's music lives on! and i'm still getting WETA!!!!!!!!!!!

hey... can anyone help me with buying geographica in aus? (baring in mind that things are very difficult when one does not have a credit card ;O)

haha now i get it....i've heard the phrase "got the juju" and always wondered what it meant....yesh ;-)

N e 1 wanna swap 'Geographica' for something? I have a few CD i'd swap 4 it.
