I'm going to be coming to live in NZ in October. I'm a singer/songwriter from England and I'm planning to try and get something happening in either Auckland or Wellington - maybe form/join a band, or just do solo stuff.
I've been writing and playing ( guitar/bass/drums/yeah, i can probably get a tune out of that/) for a few years now, and am influenced largely by Neil Finn, Wilco, The Band, The Pixies, Big Star, etc.
Have a listen to "Carousel" on the mp3 page at the site down below - recorded at home.
Let me know what you think , and if you can offer advice on where to play in Auckland/Wellington.

I'm also a David- formerly siger/songwriter in a Wellington band, now retired to the country (Hastings, Hawkes Bay). My wife and I moved here to have dogs, babies, acres, and big garages. So far the score is 2:1:5:and 2 on those counts. I liked the first 90s of carousel, then it crashed my computer!
