The Dukes Of Leisure are a 6 piece instrumental ambient rock band from Wellington.
History
Formed in 2003 (or 2004 - clear memory is difficult,) out of a circle of friends playing together in other bands. Membership waxed and waned, settling on 7 explorers finding their way without a vocalist. Songs formed, and the band played a couple of shows... then the bass player moved to Texas, and was replaced by another friend on bass... then the Texan returned and they recorded an EP with Nic McGowan as an 8 peice. More shows, indoors and out, in planetariums and bars. Texan moved away again, keyboard player moved on... more shows, more songs... the girl married one of the boys... more shows, recorded an album... currently being mixed while they play more shows...
