John Example

John Example is a Guitarist/Songwriter/Singer from Example Town.<!--break-->

----
History
John was born in Exampletown in 1970.
He and his twin brother Kevin were home schooled on their family farm in Example Town by their mother Martha, who encouraged the boys appreciation of music and subsequently the family formed the folk band Bad Example.

Bad Example
Although Bad Example was an unsuccessful project it forged a strong sense of songwriting style in John and a few of the songs from the Bad Example days made it through to Example Band.

Example Band and Fame
In 2001, John, fatigued with the lack of success of Bad Example, suggested to his brother Kevin that they should move in a different musical direction and create a band with a harder edged sound. This proved to be the right move for John and his brother, with success coming their way following the release of the debut album Example Album, and the following tour Example Tour.

Exampleland & Banned Example
The Exs released their second album Exampleland to critical review, most saying that the album was contrived and pandering to a commercial market. The band retaliated by immediately releasing a B-Sides album Banned Example.

Eventual Break-Up
Due to increasing tension in the band the brothers eventually went their separate ways in 2002 never revealing the reason for the band's demise, although many rumours circulated at the time.
Kevin went on to a successful solo career, while his brother moved back to Exampletown to work on the family farm.

Solo Career and Example Band Reformation
After the break up of The Example Band, Kevin and John went their separate ways, Kevin moved back to the family farm a job he enjoyed and thrived in, but this was not a living that John wanted to pursue, he had been bitten by the music bug and wanted to continue a life in the music industry writing music.

by April 2003 John had enough material for a solo album, he got stuck into recording and 2 months later had finished his solo album Making An Example, press was not entirely favourable for the solo effort, By Early 2004 John was disheartened with the industries fickle ways and had lost the momentum to write music.

Then at the end of January 2004 an opportunity arose for The Example Band to reform for their fathers 60th birthday, and John jumped at the chance.
