Based in Wellington, Jacky Tar are a group of Kiwi, Irish and Scottish musicians playing "funked-up" original and traditional Celtic music.
Using their Celtic roots as a base and adding elements of Rock, Rap, Funk and Dance music, their unique sound is a reflection of the cultural melting pot that is New Zealand.
History
Jacky Tar was formed back in 1996. Since then the band has seen several line up variations from a 4 piece to a 6 piece. They are a mixture of Kiwis, Scots and Irish musicians.
