Denver McCarthy is a techno producer originally from Auckland, best known in NZ for his album as Micronism. He is a practising Hare Krishna, and their philosophies are evident in the design and titles of his later work. He has released music under several aliases, as well as under his own name.
History
Denver's earliest alias was Mechanism, and in 1994 he was New Zealand's first techno artist to be released overseas, on hardcore producer Lenny Dee's label, ICR. After several years working with Mike Weston's Pulse Records in Auckland he moved on to releasing quieter, more house-oriented music as Micronism through Auckland labels Kog Transmissions and Nurture. He also released several compilation tracks under the name Chaos Reader.
His last release to date is on another US label, Statra, and was recorded under his own name.
