History

The bands first gig was played on the back of truck outside the Recreation Centre in Motueka and their official last show was opening for Trans Am at the Phat Club in Nelson. Over that time the band released 5 EP's, numerous outtakes, appeared on various compilations and gained a reputation as an entertaining and somewhat bizzare live act; often including the throwing of sausages into the audience.
Spanky, Sherbert and Pants make up Clowndog, one of Christchurch's foremost punk outfit. The three piece is originally from Nelson, having formed as a grunge band back in high school in 1996. However is was punk that caught their ears and they quickly developed a sound that saw them winning the regional finals in the Smokefree Rockquest and scoring support gigs for most bands passing through Nelson, ranging from Bic Runga to Breathe to Salmonella Dub.
In the past 5 years Clowndog has independently released a twelve track album Who's Eating the Dead Fish?, and two EPs - the double sided Soggy Saggy and an EP, Mystery Meat.
