Biff Merchants began gigging in February 2007 after having been together since around November the previous year, performing entirely original material and comprising of four multi-taskers. From it's inception, the Biff Merchant project's intention has been to provide audiences with a multi-sensory experience which they can dance and become disorientated to. The psychedelic nature of the project has been a focus when considering sound, lighting and multi-media effects. Song matter consists of everything from transcendence and out-of-body experiences to the Magpie, to protest and environmentally themed songs. Biff Merchants released their debut EP 'The Battle For Jubilee Park' locally in Dunedin on October 20th 2007. They plan to release it in other centres early in 2008.
