Marystaple

Marystaple are a rock band from Wellington.

History

2002 saw the release of Marystaple's debut EP Reset Speed, two nationwide tours in support of their EP, a tour with legendary NZ band Shihad, live performances on nationwide TV, and two of their music videos hitting high on M2's top 12 charts (with both of them staying on for over 2 months). The band played over 60 gigs in 2002 including a host of sold out shows with The Datsuns, The D4, Superjesus, Grinspoon and Betchadupa.

Following the release of the Shotgun EP in 2003, and the departure of guitarist Sam F to Australia, Marystaple went on an extended hiatus. During this time they worked on a side project The Reveals, under which they wrote and recorded a bunch of quirky indie pop tunes.

Marystaple are in the process of recording their long awaited debut album.

Trivia

  • The band once participated in the Rockquest (in a slightly different configuration).
