Evermore

Evermore are a successful pop band originally from Fielding.

History

What happens if you grow up in the New Zealand countryside with nothing to do except listen to The Who, Led Zeppelin and Crowded House records? You form a band with your two brothers and prepare to take on the world. It's only natural.

At least, it was for Evermore frontman and guitarist Jon Hume. So with siblings Peter (bass) and Dann (drums) on board, the trio set their sights on the rock'n'roll dream. After a few years experience playing together and demoing songs, the trio entered the national high-school band competition in 2000 and won. With the proceeds, Jon upgraded the home studio and continued to master the art of recording.

As word began to spread of the band's powerful live performances and strong songwriting capabilities it was clear Evermore were laying the foundations of something truly special. But it wasn't until late 2002 that it would become clear just how special that something was.

When i first saw these guys they were so good that i thought that my drink had been spiked... you could say i was knocked out... - Arnold Frolows, Triple J.
