Avotor are an industrial electronica band from Auckland
History
Avotor formed in 1998, combining environmental audio influences with modern music techniques.
With help from a circle of additional musicians, Avotor began touring a completely live format and released their debut album entitled Looming in late 1999.
The have been on numerous compilation appearances, released a limited edition clear 8" vinyl single, have remixed acts such as Indicator Dogs and Concord Dawn, and have toured with the likes of Auckland avante-garde rock outfit Meterman as well as drum & bass duo Concord Dawn.
Several tracks have licensed to local New Zealand TV shows, and the track 'Freezeover' was used in the motion picture 'The Irrefutable Truth About Demons', which became the most successful New Zealand film since the acclaimed 'Once Were Warriors'. Avotor then went back into the studio to prepare the follow-up to LOOMING, a remix EP entitled Illooming that would showcase alternative versions of their early tracks from their debut and was released in mid 2001.
Avotor have finished their second full length album entitled Billion which is out now.
