How can I log out?

I know you've been over this before, but is there any way I can log out at all? I share a computer with some others at work and we all use this site frequently. While I'm pretty sure they wouldn't intentionally write anything using my name, it has happened. What's the story?

Can you please add Deluxeboy to Artists?

Please? That would be good, i have stuff to say :)

NZMusic.com on new servers. Are things running OK?

We have just upgraded the hosting server for NZM. Is anyone noticing any changes - fast download times? Faster logging in?

Why cant i play Shihad on Quicktime?

NZMUSIC: Holy Shit! Freakin' nice

Wow, so I typed in NZmusic.com, saw some strange words as it was loading up in the status bar...thinking...hoping...oh my God! They redid the whole site! Damn it looks nice, guys!!!! Can't wait to get more familiar with it, y'know? Lots o work, no doubt. It's like my apartment just got repainted, and I got new furniture.

New icons

Icon People

There needs to be more female icons, there is only 3 at the moment, a lot less than males. Also the chick ones suck, there needs to be interesting ones, like the guys have!!

How bout a little thingy?

That tells you how many people are currently signed in to NZ music? that would be good

adding new bands - Sentimental Plastic?

how do people go about adding new bands? For example, Sentimental Plastic of Palmy Nth have a fanbloodytastic album out and a good underground following ... does the band themselves have to contact nzmusic.com? Also, what about the Ed Gains Experience in Auckland? Prodigious live shenanigans, reviewed in Real Groove ... but not on here?

heres a hopeful idea.....

ok first of all..... i'm am being surprised everyday by the quality of this site. im not trying to suck up or anything, seriously you guys have one of the best websites i've seen EVER. every little detail is getting better and better by the day, and just when i think 'ah its perfect they won't be making any more changes' you go and do it and i'm surprised again...... FUCK!!!!!! now im just scared that you'll have to go overseas to make it in a bigger industry and therefore make more money (now doesnt that sound familiar).....

anyway, enough of the ego trip aye, my suggestion is an instant messaging service on the site. where it says active members u could click on them and type them a message or something. i dont know how the hell it would work, but im thinking mayeb along the styles of audiogalaxy.com (if youve heard of that). i was actually thinking it might detract from the forums but i reckon everyone will still love getting out all of their frustrations in there...... im starting to ramble but yeah...... an instant messaging thing, maybe? just an idea. if you cant do it, tell me why

suggestion for the Forums format

Hey!

I go to a few chat forums and like how a recently discussed topic will pop to the top of the list - that way the old and out of date discussions stay archived, while it's cool to see an old topic dragged into the limelight.
With this site, no matter how many people discuss a point, it stays in the list where it was posted originally.
The Dreamworks Fansite is a good example of a excellent messageboard.
Hope I don't sound too critical. I love this site!!!

new topics?

hey there
i reckon that in the 'forum' screen where you can see all the latest comments, new topics should be included.
aaagghh its hard to explain, but for instance i posted a new topic in the general forum, and it didnt show up on the 'latest posts' thing..... how are ppl sposed to know that its even therE???

if u could make amends........?
cheers

Wheres Stereogram!!!!

how come stereogram aint on here aaaaaaaaaaannnnd they do the white trash song aye

Punk.

This site is pretty lame.
heaps of people on this site like King Kapisi and Che Fu. I could listen to the radio if I wanted to hypnotise myself with that stuff. No wonder the New Zealand dollar is down, everyones gone stupid. Anyway I just wanted to say... if you dislike most the shite on here (i.e. Zed, Tadpole and any other commercial crap), go to this site: http://www.punkas.com it's a New Zealand Punk site that has got some REAL bands on it.

no topic name - can't get in!

topic's with no topic name are inaccessble? (see the topic started by gosmithy on 13 Jul 01).

I'm addicted.... I think?

My internet was down for a couple of days recently (stupid stupid stupid help desk people!!!). I went outside and it was nice for a while birds, people, sun, fresh air... but when it got dark and the TV sucked as it often does I began to miss NZM.
I thought that this would pass over time and it did a little, but then the weekend came around and it was cold and rainy and the TV sucked, all I wanted to do was jump on NZM and be entertained, but the internet was still down (stupid stupid stupid help desk people!!!). I began to get a little worried, has NZM become that much a part of my life??.
Anyway, I finally fixed my connection problem myself (stupid stupid stupid help desk people!!!) and I'm back. I realised that its not just NZM thats part of my life but the internet itself, scary but true.
Being disconnected when your normally connected most of your day is like having one of your senses cut off, yeah... "get a life" I hear you say, well maybe I have and maybe I will even more.
Rock on NZM you are my TV.

B-Net Best Album poll

Why run a poll on this? The b-net (okay, bFM) "best album" category is flawed, when you consider that there is an entirely different section for best independent album. To my mind, this says that "best" is really about biggest, ie. you can only have a best album if you are part of the major label crew (you know, the ones who buy all the best seats at the awards). My major problem with the awards is that by not offering the opportunity for voters to cast a choice for an act outside of the range of the (narrowly selected) nominees, the whole concept is as narrowly focused as any mainstream crap.

How about Gig reviews from the Punters??

I have an idea for this site. If you've been to see a local band live recently add your thoughts about it (luvit or shove it) and then see what responses/opinions come through from anybody else who may have been there. It'll be interesting to hear how different people see a particular gig. In fact I'm curious about how many people actually 'get out' rather than stay at home listening to 'sterile' CD's of their fave bands. Get out there and support them. There are some damn fine lesser known Kiwi bands out there suffering bigtime from public apathy. Anyhoooo - lets hear from ya!!!

Punk. part two.

This post is in response to the topic titled "Punk."I really surprised at how many people responded to my little anti-NZmusic post. I was actually just trying to piss people off cos' I was bored. I know the NZ Punk scene sucks and actually, the global scene is kinda dead to. But that's not the point. I don't even know the guy who owns www.punkas.com but I thought it would be good to get some traffic by some fellow NZ rockers. To all the people who replied negatively; I would appreciate more constructive critisim than "you don't know what you're talking about". maybe next time. Joe.
