Is it just me or is it near impossible to find permanent rehearsal space in Auckland?

Of the male posters here, how many posters fitting the follwoing criteria post at this forum- To qualify, A you have to have long hair, and B you have to like/have liked Push Push.

The day we all decided to sign up to NZMusic.com we all had to do one thing: Sign Up. This includes making a screen name for ourselves which is preferably an alias and something more interesting than our normal day to day name.

No one has the same name, they either have one or don't (if your a lurker that is!). But the question of this is how did you get your NZM name? Was it out of an obsession of a band? Your own name? Or just something random. Now is the time to share with us your origin!

hey folks, hope you're all well... after much listening to Sara Groves i've decided i am still gonna try become a famous Christian musician, i had a car accident a few months ago (thanks for those who were concerned) and it made me think about whether i had been treating the people that i know right or if i was too caught up in having big dreams instead, 'cos what you wanna do with your life does kinda influence who you stay close to and who you grow apart from. anyhow, i been spending some time with them and doing the stuff they like but realised it's not "big" enough for me... i wanna do big things like move to Auckland and know more people and be on stage and preach to heaps of people... well anyway you didn't have to read that but in case anyone is wondering why i've decided to become a musician again. listening to Sara Groves' songs have also made me find music meaningful again too, that there's something more special out there than all those songs you hear on C4 these days about lust and anger and all that, well that's my opinion

i've never seen such an uninspired band of fucking pussies. i went to their gig last night expecting some kind of rock act, but what i got was a bunch of little girls PMSing.

they came on stage and already looked like they couldnt wait to leave. i think it was the second song when the singer had a hissy-fit and threw his microphone stand on the floor - someone had to come on stage and pick it up for him.

4 or 5 songs into the gig the singer tells us his throat is sore and he cant sing anymore. the band wanders off stage. some guy comes onstage and says theyre having a band meeting about what they should do, and we should just be patient.

10 mins later the same guy gets on stage again to let us know that brandon has been 'drinking some tea' and that they're going to come back and play 3 more songs. he says they REALLY REALLY want to finish the concert for us. yeah right. more like their management is worried about having to give people refunds if they stop now. we're told to be supportive and understanding (ROCK N ROLL!!).

so the killers grudgingly play 3 more uninspired numbers and then they fuck off. no one cheers. no one yells for an encore.

funny thing about this is: the whole time the singer was complaining about how shit his voice was, he sounded FINE. just like he does on the album, in fact.

just emailed my friend about what happened and she had this to say:

"I'm having a dejá vu right now. Exactly the same happened last time in Hamburg! The only difference was that he left stage after two songs. I can't believe it, you can't take this band for serious anymore!"

i wonder if i can get my money back...

one of them would have to be the new(?) pedestrian crossings on symonds street. after you push the button to cross, you have to be standing on the yellow squares, else it turns itself off.

The video gave me a few laughs but the song is pretty damn annoying. In fact I was sorta horrified to find that I enjoyed the original more than I expected, just because in contrast to Alanis's effort it's so much more daft... musically it's basically Peaches (even down to the horrific innuendo, really) ... just with a different artist story / intentions... maybe?

So it looks like I will be moving to Auckland shortly to start working as a graphic designer/sign writer again.
