Where are you based?
I heard a wicked song during State of Play on kiwifm this weekend. It had a harmonica, a bluesy riff and shouted verses & chorus. I totally misheard the chorus and, of course, they didn't announce the name of the song so I am hoping that somebody here might help. The nearest I can tell, the chorus is something like "lightning 70s children". Does that ring a bell?

Hey All!
I had the opportunity to preview Aimee Allen’s new CD A Little Happiness which comes out tomorrow and instantly fell in love. Although usually i’m a bit skeptical of the run-of-the-mill cute girl singer songwriters, Aimee is a bubbly breath of fresh air in the pop/rock/reggae world. Check her CD out tomorrow! You can even preview the Album for free via aol at: http://music.aol.com/new-releases-full-cds/#/9
Cheers!
This maybe an odd question .. but if your working with "some of the worlds best and well known musicians in alt rock avant garde fields " .. then shouldn't you be looking for a studio ? not some bloke with a bit of gear in a " sound proof " room ? and maybe have alittle cash to splash ? surely if your organising these " high profile projects " muso's of that caliber would expect alittle more ? maybe ask them for funds ? ... the thought of Robert smith in an egg carton soundproofed room with some bloke going .. hold on a minute mate just gotta re attach the faders ...
Two of us are wanting a bassist and a drummer to join our new band. Original stuff and no covers because it's hard to get all to agree on which songs to do. Influences are everthing from Nirvana and QOTSA to Bloc Party. Would be nice to hear from you. We're late 20's and mis 30's. Not sure what more to say as my expectations are low, but hey, it's worth a go...

Sound engineer wanted for high profile projects. Auckland based vocalist working with some of the world's best and most well known musicians in the alt rock, and avant garde fields. Engineer needs to be based in Auckland and have recording equipment and access to a sound proof room. There is no financial renumeration as the project is focused on art solely not on industry or marketplace. A once in a lifetime opportunity for the right person. Contact:

WELLINGTON: looking for a drummer into alt country. Acoustic rock
ok I'm a guitar play (late 30's) who likes to over embellish his own ability to the dizzying heights of just bellow average
looking for people of similar ability to start a truly awful crusty covers band, banging out all the old hits that most people are to embarrassed to admit they like, but some how every one knows the words to.
no point in listing influences, lets face it if I sounded like them I wouldn't be here....
ok well drop us a line
