hey Jesse...I also go to auckland uni, just started this semester...don't really know anyone yet and can also sing...would be very keen to get involved in something if theres room for another singer?!
Kelly.
I'm a 20 year old male and I attend the University of Auckland. I'm looking for others who are keen to get together and make some music. I am by no means a musician but I like to throw out a note and have some fun with it, are there any others out there who are in the same boat from around the Auckland area?
Cheers
Jesse

I just moved to NZ and looking for gigging bands or singer songwriters that want to gig.
I've been playing professionally in Hawaii for a few years and have toured Mexico and just toured New York in June (22 gigs in 25 days).
I find the djembe works well with acoustic guitars, but can play with anything (aside from death metal)...
Basically surfy styles, marley, jack johnson, sublime, old reggae, new stuff, even hip hop...
Looking to be gigging soon. Hit me up if you wanna jam.
Check out youtube.com/nickkickstand for some examples of my style.
Aloha!

Waiheke will be hosting it’s first ever winter blues festival on the 29th and 30th August.
Marketing and events Management Company Let me Out Ltd. are organising two days of live music at five of the islands top venues. The vibe will be strong blues influence in intimate environments where the audience can get up close and personal with the bands.
Confirmed artists include Auckland bands Riverhead Slide, Caitlin Smith, Los Diablos, The Gary Harvey Band and Billy TK Senior. Waiheke artists include The Katy Soljak Band, Aaron Carpenter, Al Reeve and the ever-popular buskin troubadour Andy Blue.
The line up has been developed by international blues singer songwriter Katy Soljak. Let Me Out director Delyth Morgan – Coghlan said “this awesome festival is all coming about because of Katy’s infectious energy and her reputation in the music industry that spans over thirty years. She has been able to attract some of the countries top bands including ‘New Zealand’s Jimi Hendrix‘ Billy TK Senior, the big sound Gary Harvey Band and blues diva Caitlin Smith .”
“To have such brilliant talent coming to play on our island alongside our local stars is really special and I can’t wait to share the stage with them” said Katy Soljak.
Tickets for the entire two-day event are priced at $30. For any one coming across from Auckland there are special deals from Fullers and SeaLink ferries.
Further information and details of venues will be released soon.
