I havent been in to check out the killing room spaces but I know Clockwork in Ellerslie are good. The main room is the one to get if you can. They also provide PA which is handy for a band who are broke (we were!). Theyll also do recording for you too. Not sure what they charge for that though

Hey guys, James Brown here, ex-pat Kiwi working and partying in South Korea. I'm an ex-manager from Wellington Phantom Billstickers and will probably recognise alot of your faces if we get the chance to meet and share a beer or sixteen.
Anyway, I've been here in Seoul for six weeks now and am cranking it up on behalf of my beloved Long White Cloudian's. Have a few businesses on the go, and have met some top notch promoters along the way. One who is geared more towards the Madonna/Beyonce/Michael Jackson major stadium concert promotion, and one who is more of a Universal studios/Mad Professor/Cypress Hill etc promoter.
So what I wanna put to the masses is if there's any Asian touring going on and you wanna hook up a gig in Seoul let me know. Details are the easy part, it's being here that's the hard one. And I long to share some of my ridiculous Korean yarns with some local brothers and sisters (fyi: check out www.jbjv.tumblr.com for more).
So holla me anytime.
Peace and aroha.

that'd would be interested in a sort of 'musical experiment' i want to do, making synth pop glitchy kinda stuff with kinda edgy female vox, and then seeing how well i can sell it to real groove and the like, they'd have to be good singers, and in on what i'm trying to do.....
I'm sure this is the wrong place to ask.... but oh well

I know this is an old thread but I was there in 1984, 24 at the time, and it changed the way I saw the world.
The scene: a free concert in the heart of Auckland - so every one turned up, I think there was 10,000 odd people in Aotea square I was on Queen St just as the riot squad turned up.
It seems that a small bunch of drunken teenagers were causing a problem in the crowd I didn't see anything. When the riot squad turned up it all turned ugly, all the drunks in the crowd started throw bottles at the 15-20 police offices that turned out to subdue the 10,000 strong crowd. I tried to stop the teenagers throwing bottles next to me but it was a waste of time as 98% of the crowd thought it was all part of the entertainment and just stood and watched as a few drunk teens caused the worst riot in the heart of Auckland in living memory. I knew then how tough the police job was, everybody expects them to save them when they need help but no one would lift a finger to help them. If 5% of the crowd had said to the rioting teenagers put the bottle down and go home then riot would never have happened.
Hello,
I'm looking for some help finding a New Zealand Promo CDr by Metallica called "The Day That Never Comes". It says beneath the song title "Death Magnetic In-Stores September 12th (no year).
This is a 1-track single issued by Universal Music New Zealand.
Here you can view the image : http://metcollectors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=570
If you have it, or any connections with sellers of rare music or perhaps a Universal Music employee, please let me know, as I will pay you VERY well if we locate one!
Many Thanks,

Riverblind Seek Management
Riverblind seek management.
We are an independent and self managed three piece are based in Wellington and have been playing since 2006.
We have released two recordings to date, 2007’s ‘Mind Estate’ and 2009’s ‘Hour Of The Wolf’. We’ve toured NZ and are doing it again this year. We also have some exciting opportunities in line for 2011.
We feel we have taken the band as far as we can without the assistance of someone else. We have found that we have great ideas and all the means in which to pursue them except time. We find the more time we spend on management and marketing, the less the music feels important to us and it begins to suffer.
We need someone who is passionate about music, intelligent, diligent and self-motivated. We have many ideas about how to get things moving, but would like someone with ideas of their own also.
