The music will play in chronological order from 9pm!

the Cult's Goat album is a cracking good listen.
not even Bob Rock can spoil it
I know it's not indie Tane but it sure is one of my favorite records.

I agree........ hehehe.

I haven't been to nzmusic for such a long time!

Should be some fun!

Dreamtime!

almost Goth AC
modern music may well be considerably different if Morrissey had teamed up with Duffy instead of Marr.

whatever happened to the Fields of the Nephilim?

// whatever happened to the Fields of the Nephilim?

Nothing they didn't deserve, is probably the answer.

What was the vid with them wielding chainsaws? Dawnrazor, I guess? I remember that being pretty awesome / hilarious / thrilling as a teen. People who see goth as something serious kind of miss the point, don't they?

Moonchild?

I don't think Mr Eldritch took Goth to seriously, and he was cool and particularly well read.I like the cut with the figures at the top(apparently record label advance), I think it's Alan Vega from Suicide. also the Bass Player Mrs Morrison has married Damian Vanian and now plays in the Damned.
I wonder if they do "Happy Talk".

if so that aint to goth really.

is somebody going to mention the Mission 'cos I think I still have the JPJ produced 12" of "Tower of Strength" lurking around here.

Thats a pretty good list of music i have most i think on my ipod, i just got some foo fighters tickets for a concert coming up should be good there is a good line up coming on before they do.

// 12. Teenage Riot – Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation – SST – 1988

Got a huge book on German contemporary artist Gerhard Richter (lucky I mentioned he was German, would never have picked it..) out of the library last month and in the midst of being blown away by every goddamn print in there stumbled upon the cover of Daydream Nation. Weirdness.

¿why are there bands/labels with more than 1 entry?

¿how come theres nothing pre 80s?

¿how come theres no nz artists?

Surely you would have an answer for that?

i never said all nz music sucks- just 90% of it- same ratio as everywhere else

¿wheres the mighty hannibal?

¿split ends?

¿can?

¿wire?

¿elvis?

¿The Replacements?- ¿Soundgarden?- ¿Uncle Tupelo?- ¿Teenage Fanclub?- ¿Buffalo Tom?- ¿Elliott Smith?- ¿My Morning Jacket?- ¿The Shins?- ¿Wilco?- ¿Iron & Wine?- ¿Bright Eyes?- ¿Bloc Party?- ¡¡¿¿Bloc Party??!!- i get it- youre trying to get a rise

Heard Shihad's Home Again the other day and thought it sounded a lot like Buffalo Tom, particularly Mr Toogood sounds a lot like their (main) singer... Bill something-owicz?

hey- i know- ¿why dont you add hdu the brunettes & dimmer as representing nz?

I think I like a song by Bloc Party
no shit
I'm not sure if it's then, I see it on Alt TV
nice chorus and I think I liked the lyric too.
almost clever I reckon a play on words.

I also wonder how many of these bands where once lauded on the cover of the NME as the future of music as we will know it.

if I say
Ned's Atomic Dustbin will James appear?
