ex Telecom chief executive Peter Troughton has been held in Aust after the none to insignificant sum of $NZ 6500000 non payed re: personal tax.

It's after reading things like this that I despair.
The concept of having $6500000 is offensive enough let alone trying to skip the country with that being your over-due IRD bill.
how much is too much? To have a bill of 6 and a half million dollars I estimate incoming of $20000000.... good grief, how can he run a company if his own accounts are so negligent? maybe he is too good to pay tax, like a few other noteable NZ'ers once called Captains of Industry and living now in say, London.

you should remember this Motherfucker form the first days of Telecom...no more annoying than Peter Shirtlift but 100 times more dangerous in the real world. Might have cut a good 12000 jobs, for this he got Executive of the Year (1990/1???)
