Our Man in Fiji

Given the skepticism voiced by our Shanghai correspondent by the West's "gap" between promise and delivery I urge you all to check out new British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown doing his bit for the Fijian Tourism Board.

it's a cracker.

imagine, say Kevin Rudd fronting the Harare National Park... or Empress Clark sunbathing in Rangoon.
Nice one Gordy!

foal I don't mean to be rude but since when did this become a forum solely for your political views. Sure there's nothing else going on here, but why the seriouse boring posts. Let's bring the stupdidity back.

unit

little concerned you have me mixed up with someone else mate.
strictly apolitical me.

as far as stupidity is concerned, or for that matter bringing it back, that will occur with a far broader cross section of society than we currently attract.Alternately it is only stupid people left. However as voiced earlier, if the death of NZ Music is attributable to my broadsides then I will gladly step aside for the betterment of the community.

Thank you, you've been a beautiful audience.

This was already a place for some clicky in-group of ppl who already knew each other. Then myspace and facebook came along and there's no need for the forums anymore.

i'm sure they were somewhat useful, in providing a platform for that comment. everyone knows the lack of 'people' is only heather having cut back her troll quota ; p

Yeah Hey,

And not to sound like total tool but yeah I totally agree with Rdor on this one ! This is music site ! Shit man why don't we ever discuss music on this site ? It's starting to get to me Foal 30. Fuck Fiji, Fiji Sucks, Supertramp's Crime Of Century ?!? Is It the most underated album of seventies ?!? Considering the rising importance of such albums as Joni Mitchell's Ladies Of Canyon, Neil Young On The Beach, Dennis Wilson Pacific Ocean Blue and Bruce Springsteen Darkness On The Edge Of Town, I will have to say, yes, yes it certainly is ...

I hope it's just a coincidence that this place started depopulatng when Jesus Crux left.

-) I'm not so sure the demise of Jesus Crux is the reason, granted he was a prolific poster and did provoke responses, but I think it's more to do with the NZ music scene becoming more established maybe, you have bands who have " made it " they've had success and become main stays in the minds of the public, they know kiwi's can do it down home and have proved it, there's loads .. as has always been the case .. of bands out there pushing their wares so to speak, but the freshness of the race has worn alittle maybe .. there's only so many times anyone can comment on bands they've seen / heard without repeating yourself.

Bands also have Myspace, Facebook and various other cyber ways to get their music out there, not just amied at the NZ market, but global, it's a busy world and NZM is just one of many websites out there people will post comments on.
I myself gave up posting here when it became clear there were people around who just sat behind their trolls and posted somewhat childish / almost personal insults, yes I know I'm a big boy now, and water off a ducks back and all that, but it did make me wonder just how small the community on this site truely was, how many trolls various people had and if I was at times just responding to one person bouncing around with various trolls. Though that said, I still read the site every day and quiet enjoy the few posts that are posted.

everyone knows the lack of 'people' is only heather having cut back her troll quota
Guilty as charged. JesusCrux's disappearance : demise of the boards = not a causal relationship, but there is a correlation. My work got busy.

Anyone complaining about foal's posts can go jump. There's nothing outlawing politics on the forums, and if the quota of political content is high, it's only because foal's making the effort when few else are.

I'm staging a comeback. It's gonna be a doozy.

horray!!!!

2 cool posts. i just don't know why you're such a wallflower rdor,

So, do you like... stuff?

i like you

Yes I like you Borat.
