I read with some interest that the Mushroom Record Label has signed two NZ Bands (or Band members).
There was a time such an action would be proclaimed from on high as further proof (as if any was needed) of the success of the industry as a whole, I'm sure we can all dredge out some memorable quotes from the memory banks.
Have I missed the trumpets or did this sort of pass by without much too-do?
I actually like selections from both Bands too... which is very strange or showing onset of old age.
So, is Label support now un-hip or has it become near worthless?

yes, I have been called many, many names. I used to be concerned about how uncomplimentary they were until I realized that words such as "fuckwit", "know-it-all", "commo", "useless", "good-for-nothing" said more about the utterer or actual vocalized an underlying affection for me.

Woah there tiger - you're talking about a couple of new signings to a publishing company (underline for effect) called Mushroom Music Publishing...they've just signed publishing deals with the songwriters for Pluto & Solaa, and as far as NZ signings go...they do it all the time, no biggie...(Mint Chicks, Shapeshifter, SJD, Neil Finn, Tim Finn, Liam Finn, Scribe, Die! Die! Die!, Salmonella Dub, King Kapisi, Anika Moa, James Milne, Elemno P, Nathan Haines)
Which is nice. Doesn't overly affect who or how one release ones records.
