4 bands play the Harbour Light

"In honour of breaking down musical barriers, The Enright House, Pandora's Bucket, A Flight to Blackout and Donatello (Wgtn) will come together for a uniquely dynamic show at Lyttleton's beautiful Harbour Light Theatre. With genre's reaching from indie-pop to folk to post-rock & metal, this show will see a merging of musical styles not often experienced by Christchurch audiences.

The Enright House is one of Christchurch 's most promising new bands. Since the October 2006 release of the Broken Hands EP, a spot at 'Camp A LOW HUM' in Wellington in early February and tracks featured on the first ever 'A LOW HUM' Singles Club release in March, their popularity has risen steadily and, thanks to proactive use of the internet, they have garnered considerable interest from an international audience.

Their sound has been described as anything from "pop as pop should be" to "skittery percussion, ethereal drones with metallic resonances, and disturbingly atmospheric sounds..." and with the recent addition of a second guitarist and a new full length album coming out in June on the ALH label, they are just one reason this show is not to be missed.

Pandora's Bucket describe themselves as "Post-modern art-rock for suburban cowboys..." which, I guess, is just as apt a description as any! They inhabit a sparse musical terrain - at one moment carrying away the audience with a beautiful folk-rock ballad and the next, inviting them to dance to infectious rhythms veering on that of drum & bass, only with a backing of acoustic guitars and the odd harmonica!

They have recently released their 'Fished Out from the Hunt' EP, and are growing a solid fanbase, playing to receptive crowds in Christchurch , Nelson and Wellington . Pandora's Bucket will be one to watch.

A Flight to Blackout continue to dose out to local audiences a consistent measure of raw, epic, post-rock in the vein of groups like Mogwai, God Speed You Black Emporer and Slint and promise to provide an intense wall of sound at every show.

Donatello are a new band from Wellington featuring members of grindcore/ hardcore bands Akaname and Cathedra. Their music, heavily influenced by bands like ENVY and Buried Inside, encompasses a sound where crushing intensity and beauty coexist in one powerful 5-piece.
This, just their second live appearance will be a sure spectacle.
