It's been a long time between volumes (nearly two years since Select 7), but finally Loop have released the latest in their hugely popular Select series. A Multimedia delight, Rare Vision includes a thirteen track CD, a DVD and a 48 page book and follows a similar M.O. as the series' previous installments - ie. Diverse, up and coming, cutting edge music, film and art all in the one very attractive package!

The CD compilation is a strong release in it's own right a mixed bag of Loop luminaries such as Adi Dick, Recloose, Sam Scott, Paul McLaney and even Loop old-boys The Black Seeds make an appearance. Elsewhere there are some international flavours; From the beautiful opening track by Jehro segues to Nickodemus' NYC Hip Hop to the distinctly European, minimal techno of Kraak & Smack and Noiseshaper.

The DVD component of this set holds many visual treats; Seven short films, and assortment of music videos and docos as well as a "motion graphics" section.
The last part of this set is a 48 page art book, showcasing some stunning photography and modern art and graphic design from here and abroad.

Loop recordings continue to push boundaries and once again challenge how we think of compilations.
